Each year the Met Gala makes the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York the most magical fashion show in the world. The stars dress up in the most beautiful clothing, their hair in the most dramatic do, and then they have the most stunning jewellery you’ve ever seen. The 2026 Met Gala was no exception. This year was extra special, actually, because the theme was “Costume Art”—whereby the fashion is considered to be real art. Each garment demanded the right kind of jewellery to give it the finishing touch, and each outfit demanded the right kind of jewellery to complete it.

At Dishis Designer Jewellery we were closely watching all of the looks this year. Why? This year’s Met Gala was no exception; jewellery was a main attraction, not an afterthought. Shoes that were as large as a shoe box and emeralds that shimmered in the lights were just a few of the jewellery exhibits lining the red carpet. Let’s stroll through the most jaw dropping jewellery moments at Met Gala 2026!

1. Pearls Take Over the Red Carpet

If you’ve been thinking that maybe pearls were a thing of the past, then the Met Gala 2026 has just proved you wrong. Glowing with confidence, Emily Blunt arrived in one of the most discussed outfits of the night – a jaw-dropping Mikimoto pearl body necklace. This was no ordinary pearl necklace, however. Think soft, round pearls, hanging beautifully in patterns across her arms and chest. She adorned herself with numerous pearl bracelets around her wrists as well.
This outfit was kind of a Queen in a fairy tale and a powerful soldier — simultaneously. Her dress was royal, old-style and the pearls gave it a soft, dreamy and expensive look. This Mikimoto necklace is actually valued at approximately half a million dollars! This is definitely one big jewellery trend from the night and we loved to see the pearls sparkle that brightly.

2. Beyoncé’s Diamond Moment with Chopard

Beyonce enters the room and everyone looks at each other. And she didn’t disappoint at Met Gala 2026. She arrived in the most incredible outfits with husband Jay-Z and daughter Blue Ivy Carter. Beyoncé was in a sheer, crystal-studded gown that featured a skeleton design – bold, artistic and definitely “Costume Art.

But the jewellery? Oh my goodness. She wore Chopard diamond pieces! She wore Chopard diamond pieces, nothing was believable! One of the most groundbreaking pieces was a beautiful emerald 50.99-carat cuff bracelet. The biggest emerald ever spied on a red carpet! This is a rare, precious and very beautiful emerald, the size of which is exceptionally deep green under the lights. Beyoncé once again proved to be a big fan of style, and in the world of style there is no one like her. Her appearance was perfect – high fashion and high jewellery.

3. Anne Hathaway and Her Golden Bulgari Collar

Certain jewellery makes you look at it and say, “ Wow”. Which is exactly what happened to Anne Hathaway this time when she came out on the red carpet in a sharp necklace from Bulgari’s high jewellery collection, fashioned ‘Vimini’. It was made in yellow gold with a diamond pavé and it extended over her neckline like rays of sunshine or the petals of a golden flower.

She didn’t stop there, however. There were three more Bulgari jewels on Anne Hathaway’s ears as well: big square diamond earrings, a Serpenti ring (a snake-shaped piece of jewellery!), and a more playful gold earring higher up on her left ear. They were all unique and they told a story. This style of jewelry is one that many of us can try as well — mixing pieces together to create a single outfit. There’s no reason to break the bank to wear a necklace with a big pair of earrings. It’s similar to the concept, and it always looks great.

4. Isha Ambani’s Indian Diamond Magic

One such jaw-dropping moment was when Indian heiress Isha Ambani got everyone looking in a jewellery look straight out of a royal palace. Her custom necklace by Lorraine Schwartz featured large natural diamonds and a 50 carat Colombian emerald in the centre. This emerald was once worn by Angelina Jolie at the Oscars in 2009! This makes it even more unique!

She wore a choker with three additional rows of large round-cut diamonds, shoulder-length diamond chandelier earrings, a collection of diamond cocktail rings, and a diamond and emerald brooch that was pinned to her attire. When asked about her red carpet look on the floor, she replied: “A blouse full of my mother’s jewelry.” It’s so gorgeous, you’re wearing all your family’s gems at the largest fashion show in the world. This was a reminder to me that Indian jewellery is always grand, meaningful and always timeless. It should be worn on every red carpet around the globe.

5. Tiaras, Crowns, and Hair Jewels Are Back!

Jewellery on the hair was one of the most enticing trends in jewellery at Met Gala 2026. Yes, there were tiaras, crowns and hair pieces aplenty — but they were so magically beautiful. The actress and singer Suki Waterhouse wore a lovely Boucheron white gold diamond feather tiara. It was part of their “Histoire de Style” high jewelry collection, and resembled something out of an ancient Greek tale.
Back then, it was common in royal families and for big occasions to wear jewellery in the hair. Now back and even more stylish. When it comes to wearing stones or pearls, if you are going to a wedding or big party or any kind of special event, it can take your appearance to the next level. One thing Dishis Designer Jewellery always suggests is to remember the hair while you are thinking about your jewellery look!

6. The Big Jewellery Trends from Met Gala 2026

So, what did you notice about the big jewellery lessons we can take home from this year’s Met Gala? Let’s keep it simple:
Necklaces with bold collars are in vogue everywhere, from Bulgari’s golden necklace for Anne Hathaway, to chunky diamond collars. They are a great accessory for the face and can simply elevate any outfit to a completely different level.
Coloured Stones Are Back in a Big Way — Emeralds, sapphires, and blue zircons were seen all night on the red carpet. BLACKPINK’s Lisa wore a huge 50-carat necklace by Bulgari. Emerald-cut blue zircons and emeralds in gold and platinum were arranged in a necklace that Amanda Seyfried wore with her pink Prada gown. The coloured stones add a touch of vibrancy and style to any outfit.

Ear Cuffs and Non-Traditional Earrings — fashion icons like Rihanna, Julianne Moore and Rebecca Hall all wore non-traditional earrings which are higher on the ear, instead of resting on the earlobe. It’s a fun and easy way to do something different without altering your entire outfit.
Don’t be afraid to wear rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings all together in one look, it’s the latest fashion! Layer your rings, mix your bracelets and don’t be afraid to layer.
